KARACHI, March 16: Sabihuddin Ghausi of Dawn and Najib Ahmed of Jang on Saturday were elected President and Secretary of the Karachi Press Club.

The two secured 257 and 293 votes, respectively, out of the total 489 votes cast.

Ghausi’s rival, Sarfaraz Ahmed, secured 216 votes while Imtiaz Faran, a candidate for secretary, polled 178 votes.

Other office-beareres elected were: Wali Rizvi (Vice President, 244 votes) Mosa Kaleem (Joint Secretary, 249 votes) and A. H. Khanzada (Treasurer, 239 votes).

Those elected members of the governing body were: Bachal Leghari (275 votes), Khursheed Abbasi (264), Moeenul Haq (277) Muhammed Anver Khan (203), Siraj Ahmed (210), Muhammed Ali (210) and Zebe Azkar Hussain (204).
