LAHORE, March 16: A fine all-round performance by  Lahore Blues skipper Tariq Mahmood failed to save his team from narrow one wicket defeat against Rest of Punjab in the Pool ‘C’  match of the National One-day Cricket Championship at LCCA Ground Saturday.

Tariq first hit a fine 124 off 106 deliveries to help Lahore Blues pile up 301 for six in the stipulated 50 overs and then claimed three for 58. But his heroics proved futile as Punjab reached their target by scoring 302 for nine.

Sufian Munir was Punjab’s hero. He scored 79 off 78 balls with six boundaries.
