MADRID, March 16 - The President of the Spanish Olympic Committee Alfredo Goyeneche has died in a road traffic accident, Spanish state television reported Saturday.
Reports suggested that the 63-year-old, who competed in the equestrian events at 1960 Olympics, was killed as a result of a car accident close to the northern town of Miranda del Ebro.
He was on his way to Vitoria to watch the semifinals of the King’s Cup basketball tournament.—Reuters
