Karachi, Punjab Universities reach final

LAHORE, March 14: Punjab University and Karachi University set up a repeat of last year’s final in the Inter-University cricket championship after winning their semifinals on first innings.

Defending champions Punjab University secured first innings over Bahauddin Zakriya University while Karachi University earned lead over Peshawar University.

The four-day final will begin at the Old Campus ground from Saturday.

SUMMARISED SCORES:


PUNJAB UNIVERSITY: 324-8 (Arsalan 88, Farhan Usman Khan 68, Haroon Rahim 51, Asim Ijaz 44 not out) and 323-6 (Haroon Rahim 125 not out (13x4), Arsalan Mir 53 (5x4), Asim Ijaz 50 (4x4); Agha Shakil 5/111).

BAHAUDDIN ZAKRIYA UNIVERSITY: 247 (Khurrum Usmani 76, Abdul Haq 52).

PESHAWAR UNIVERSITY: 190 (Nazir Khan 88, Raheel Siani 3/28, Fahd Khan 2/26) and 253 (Kifayatullah 83, Muslehuddin 55, Naveed Jan 50; Adnan Kaleem 6/84, Raheel Siani 3/71).
