Victory for Pakistan

KARACHI, March 13: Striker Qadeer Ahmad’s match-winner helped Pakistan beat visiting South Korea’s Hyundai Tigers Club 1-0 in the second and last football match at People’s Sports Complex Wednesday.

The national team had earlier managed a 1-1 draw against the Koreans.

Pakistan dominated the game but could not extend the margin because of poor finishing and missed at least four open chances.

Qadeer’s winner came in the 21st minute of the first half.

In second half, the Pakistanis attacked through striker Zulfiqar, Adeel Ahmad, Gohar Zaman, Lal Bakhsh and Sarfraz but failed to enhance the lead.—PPI
