Cricket board compensates LCCA

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, March 13: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made good the losses suffered by the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) by hosting the Asian Test championship final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium from March 6 to 10.

LCCA had suffered a loss of Rs200,000 due to the poor turnout. The bad weather on the fourth day and Pakistan’s dismal performance played key factor in preventing spectators from witnessing the fifth day’s proceedings.

The LCCA incurred Rs500,000 on organizing the Test and while the total sales amounted to about Rs two lakhs resulting in a net loss of Rs300,000.

A delegation of the LCCA met the PCB officials Wednesday and succeeded in getting the losses recovered.
