ISLAMABAD, March 13: The staffers of the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi have condemned torture on them and their five-hour illegal detention by Indian intelligence agencies.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday on their return from New Delhi via Dubai, they said their car had been surrounded by nearly a dozen vehicles belonging to the intelligence agencies on their return from the New Delhi railway station on March 2.

“They smashed the car’s windowpanes and pulled us out of the car and harassed us,” said one of the staffers.

The intelligence agents handed them over to the police, who released them. Meanwhile, the two staffers were asked to leave India within seven days on the charges of espionage, which were brushed aside by the Pakistani authorities.—NNI
