KARACHI: JUI-Q to form alliance with PML-QA, SDA

KARACHI, March 13: Chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-Q), Ajmal Qadri, said on Wednesday that his party had reached an understanding with the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-QA) and the Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) regarding the general elections to be held in October.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said that the leaders of the PML-QA had met him in Lahore the other day and an agreement on adjustment of seats had been signed between them.

He said that they had also talked to the SDA leadership and the same would also be done in Sindh at the district level.

Inviting the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to evolve joint election strategy, he said that his party was ready to talk to every political and religious party having an open-minded and patriotic approach.

Maulana Ajaml Qadri said that his party would launch its election campaign from April 25. A caravan of the “Ulema-e-Haq “ would be taken out from the Ayub Stadium Quetta from May 5 and it would end on May 22 at the Jinnah Stadium Peshawar.

He expressed concern over the sectarian killings in Karachi and said he would talk to the Ulema to create religious harmony. He condemned the massacre of Muslims in India.—PPI
