LAHORE, March 12: A six-event card comprising moderate field has been drawn for the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse Wednesday.

All races will be contested over the sprinting distance of six furlongs, the first to start at 12 noon.

The events consist runners belonging to the lower divisions of class VII, from division IV down to the bottom division VIII.

The feature event, the Minchin Abad Plate, class VII division IV & V combined race has only 13 runners, barring last minute withdrawals. Of them, three come into reckoning. They are: three-year-old bay colt Incognito, four-year-old bay filly Royal Strength and bay mare Turn On.

Incognito, a colt from Rambo out-of-Steffy Graph will be bidding to complete a hat trick of victories while Royal Strength (Al trui-Crepscule) has a facile victory to her credit and will be striding all out to make it two in-a-row.

Turn On has come down in the handicap considerably without showing any form yet.

If all on job, they would provide thrills and shrills to race-fans. Normally the feature event is either the last or last but one race. But this time it will be the second race of the day’s programme.

On the whole, the card looks competitive and mixture of form and out-of-form animals in which winner picking may prove difficult task for the backers.
