Seven women die in road accident

BAHAWALPUR, March 9: Seven women were killed and several others sustained serious injures on Saturday when a tractor- trolley carrying them overturned in Basti Gharibabad near Ahmedpur city.

According to reports reaching here in the evening, a large number of women and children were going for mehndi (henna ceremony) to the residence of the would-be bridegroom.

Due to rain the road had become slippery. When driver applied brakes, the vehicle skidded of the road and overturned.

The injured were removed to tehsil HQs hospital, Ahmedpur East.

The names of the dead were yet to be identified.
