KATHMANDU, March 8: Government officials in Nepal were tightlipped on Friday about the status of a journalist security agencies detained on Sunday.
“All we can confirm is that he is under interrogation, and is within the (Kathmandu) valley,” said Major Naresh Bhatta, of the Royal Nepali Army, now attached to a newly-opened directorate of public relations.
In what initially appeared as a sensational incident of abduction, Editor Gopal Budhathoki, 42, of weekly “Saangu”, was picked up by four unidentified men outside his newspaper office located at an area close to the king’s palace.
