SUKKUR, March 6: Acting Zila Nazim Iqbal Dawood has said that poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is about love, tolerance, strength and bravery.

Speaking on Latif Day function organized by the Management of Workers Model School, Sukkur, he advised students to follow the message of Bhittai.

Earlier, Principal Workers Model School, SITE area, Sukkur, Dr. Prof. Abdul Bari Indhar, delivered his lecture about the poetry and message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

He also informed the Nazim about the problems of the school which included provision of playground, transport, Sui gas facility, and proper security arrangement for the school.

He further said that admissions were open in K. G. to class x where 50 per cent seats were reserved for workers’ childern and 50 per cent for others.

He said that the school would provide free education to workers’ children, including vocational, technical, and professional education.

The Nazim assured the school Management that he would approach Sindh Labour Minister for solving the transport problem of the school and allotment of 200 workers quarters to the labourers already constructed in Labour Colony, Sukkur, by the Sindh Workers Welfare Board.

Union Council Nazim Ghulam Mohammad Maka and Councilor of the area Manzoor Khoso also spoke on the occasion.

School children presented tableaus during the function, which was largely attended by parents and teachers.

CIVIL HOSPITAL: Acting Zila Nazim Sukkur Iqbal Dawood paid a surprise visit to the Civil Hospital, Sukkur, on Wednesday and noticed numerous irregularities, including corruption, absence from duty and other malpractices.

The Nazim inspected various sections of the hospital along with Medical Superintendent Khalid Shaikh. He enquired about the welfare of patients who were sitting near X ray room and checked the papers in their hands.

He noticed that X ray technician Mohiuddin had not issued the X-Ray charges receipt to three of the patients, when checked the amount Rs180 was found in possession of the Technician. He was immediately placed under suspension.

Another lab Technician Abdul Sami was also charging the patients for the tests, which were conducted free of cost, he was also placed under suspension.

The Nazim asked the EDO (Health) to issue show cause notices to four Nurses Gul Zareen, Robina, Rehana and Summo Baloch for negligence of their duties.

The patients complained to the Nazim that Dr. Gul Muhammad Qasimi, Dr. Iqbal, Incharge Medical Ward, Dr. Mumtaz Butt and Dr.Ruqqaiya had not been in the Wards since morning.
