Rice-laden trailer driven away

SHEIKHUPURA, March 5: A trailer laden with 350 bags of rice was driven away by a gang of highwaymen near Fathuwala on Jaranwala Road, some 40-km away from here, early Tuesday.

Reportedly, the trailer (SAF 5193) carrying rice and bound for Karachi was stopped by four armed dacoits who forced the driver and trader Faiz Muhammad to step down..

The worth of the vehicle and rice was stated to Rs 3.5million. Mandi Faizabad police are investigating.

In other incident, two unidentified robbers took away a motorcycle (LHX-938) from Khalil near Fathuwala on Jaranwala Road on Tuesday.

Arshad Ali, a farmer, was deprived of his tractor-trolley by the two bandits at the same place and same moment.
