SUKKUR, March 4: Tehrik Istaqlal President Rehmat Khan Verdag has strongly condemned the carnage of Muslims by Hindu fanatics in several parts of India.
He appealed to the UN and OIC states to intervene and save the innocent Muslim population from extermination.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Mr Verdag said that the events taking place since 27th February were a shameful blow for the claim of secularism by India.
He held the Gujrat state government responsible for keeping a silence on the killings of Muslims .
Mr Verdag said that the people of Pakistan were deeply shocked and anguished on the killings.
He deplored that human rights organizations had not been able to lodge their protest and raise voice to save the Muslims.
Mr Verdag said that the Tehrik Istaqlal would organize rallies in the country to express sympathies and solidarity with their Indian brethren Muslims.
Two killed: Two people were killed and two others were injured in an armed clash between the Kambrani and Esani tribes in front of the Muslim Commercial Bank, Jacobabad, on Monday.
On Monday, both the groups visited Jacobabad for shopping. On seeing one another they started shooting, which continued for half an hour as a result of which M. Anwer Esani and Gulsher Ahmed Kambrani were killed on the spot, while M. Khan Kambrani and Saiful Esani were wounded.
No arrest had been reported till the filing of this report.
It may be recalled that both the tribes have been fighting since a year as a result of which so far 13 people had been killed.
DBA: The election of the District Bar Association (DBA), Sukkur, was held on Monday.
It was held under the supervision of M. Ismail Memon, member of the Sindh Bar Council.
Bhajan Das was elected president, Kanwar Sultan vice president, Mushtaq Ahmed general secretary, Tanveer Shahbaz joint secretary, Shabbir Hussain Khoso library secretary, and Hamzo Khan Buroro treasurer of the bar association.
