BAJAUR, March 4: Three people died and many others received injuries when their houses collapsed in different areas of the Bajaur Agency on Sunday evening when a strong earthquake jolted most parts of the country.

Those died were identified as Khan Zamin, Ajab Gul and Noorzali Khan.

The injured, including Aslam, Gul Jan, Tor Khan, Zevar Khan, Juma Gul, Dilbar Khan, Sanam Gul, Toti Khan and Gul Ferosh, were taken to the headquarters hospital, Khaar. Two injured were stated to be in serious condition. Scores of houses were damaged and many cattle-heads killed in the high-intensity earthquake.

The local administration has constituted several teams to assess the damages in the far-flung areas of the agency.
