NAUSHAHARO FEROZE, March 3: Five people including the wife, two sons, sister and driver of the deputy superintendent, Landhi Jail, Karachi, were killed while four of his children were injured in an accident near Halani on the National Highway on late Saturday night.

The family of the deputy superintendent, Sikandar Bakhrani, was headed towards Karimabad village, Shikarpur District, in their car (ACL-661) when it collided with a Karachi-bound coach (LSS-7465) coming from the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision, Sikandar’s wife Roshan, two sons Sarfaraz and Raja, sister Waziran and driver Khadim Hussain were killed on the spot while four of his children — Sanam, Babar, Bakht and Benazir — were injured.

An Edhi ambulance took the injured to the Civil Hospital Nawabshah where the condition of one child is said to be precarious. An FIR has been lodged at the Mehrabpur police station.

The driver of the coach escaped after the accident.
