PESHAWAR: Uplift work in Swabi to start soon


PESHAWAR, March 2: District Nazim Swabi Sher Zaman Sher on Saturday expressed the hope that the federal and provincial governments would work to develop the neglected and backward District Swabi.

Talking to newsmen here, Sher Zaman Sher while expressing his resolve to make the district an exemplary one, said, the district is bestowed with natural resources, having great agriculture potential, but it was regretful that this district has always been overlooked in the past.

The District Nazim said, there was no dearth of manpower in the district but due to lack of industrial facilities, this force was not being utilized. He demanded that industrial incentives given to the Gadoon Estate in the past be restored.

Reiterating his demand of utilization of tobacco cess within the district, Sher Zaman Sher said, this district was contributing Rs13 billion in the shape of tobacco duty to the federal government.—APP
