FAISALABAD, Feb 18: The sale of cinema tickets and unhygienic food stuff in the local theatres at exorbitant rates have been ailing people with the connivance of the Excise and Taxation department.
A survey conducted by this correspondent on Monday revealed overcharging and selling junk victuals had become a routine. The cinema management were charging Rs60 to 80 a ticket instead of fixed price of Rs35 to 50.
Soft drinks, tea, samosas and other items were being sold at higher rates, it was learnt.
In some of the cinemas, plays and music were being performed with vulgarity and against the rules of the Punjab Arts Council.
People have urged the Punjab governor to take stock of the situation and improve the means to entertainment.
