Evergreen win

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: Evergreen shot CDA out 4-2 on penalties to advance to the semifinals of the Islamabad District soccer league Thursday.

Both sides were unable to score in regulation time and in the shootout Evergreen goalkeeper Adnan emerged the hero, thwarting two penalties.

Naveed, Kamran, Adnan and Nadir scored for Evergreen while Jameel and Asad netted for the rivals.

In another quarter-final, Akbar beat PTV 5-4, also on penalties after both sides finished level 1-1 in the scheduled time.

For Akbar Club, Chaman, Majeed, Aslam and Hasan were on target with PTV scoring through Ihsan, Rasheed and Hasan.

Kiran sprang a big surprise upsetting Huma 1-0 to book their berth in the semi-finals. Gulraiz scored the winner.

Friday fixture: Mehran Club v Akbar.
