Six bandits arrested

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 13: Six dacoits were arrested and in a police encounter in village Shero Dahri on Wednesday in which a constable was injured.

Rehmatullah Abbasi was going to his village on Wednesday night when six decoits snached his car on Tunio link road.

He informed SDPO Abdul Razzak Brohi through telephone about the incident, who sent a police team after the dacoits.

When the police reached near village Shero Dahri, the decoits opened fire on them and injured constable Sajan Umarani.

After the exchange of fire, the police arrested six decoits identified as Saleh Machhi, Abdullah Kumbher, Hassan Rajper, Shero Dahri, Hidayatullah Maree, Sadiq Maree, and recovered two Kalashinkovs, two guns, two TT pistols a motorcycle from their possession.

Police constable Sajan Umrani who recieved a bullet wound on his leg has been admitted to local civil hospital.

According to police, Saleh Machi and Abdullah Kumbher were absconding in some cases including an attack on village Moosa Rajper near here in which two persons were killed.

The SDPO told Dawn that as the village from where the dacoits were arrested fell in the jurisdiction of Bhiria poilice station, cases under section 13D and 353 had been filed with Bhiria police station.

SUSPENDED: Post master, Naushahro Feroze, Mohammad Yasin Rind was suspended on Tuesday on the charges of embezzlement of Rs0.7 million, superintendent, post offices, Naushahro Feroze, told Dawn.

He said that the charge was handed over to Ahmed Ali Bhatti, former superintendent, post offices, Naushahro Feroze sub-division.

CONVICTED: District and Session Judge, Naushaharo Feroze, Mohammad Ishaque Memon, on Tuesday awarded ten years’ imprisonment to Mohammad Ashfaque Ansari for kidnapping a five-year-old boy Waqar.

Ansari had kidnapped the boy from Thatta in 1999.
