Two die, 35 injured in accident

DADU, Feb 10: Two people died on the spot and 35 were injured in a road accident when a Gaji Shah bound bus overturned and fell in to a ditch on Sehwan-Jhangara road near village Kai on Saturday.

The bus (P-1094), carrying pilgrims, was going to the shrine of Sufi saint Gaji Shah for his annual Urs.

Two pilgrims Fida Hussain, 14, resident of Doulatpur town, and Badaruddin, 21, son of Mir Hassan Khoso, resident of Qambar, died on the spot.

The injured Rasool Bux Khoso, Mithal Zardari, More Zardari, Ghulam Haider, Nabi Bux, Shahid Ali, Ali Asghar, Javed Ali, Ms Moomal, Murad Khatoon, Imamzadi, Ladiani, Meer Khatoon, Khudeja, Gul Zardari and Sharif Zardari and others were admitted to a local hospital, where 19 of them were discharged after the treatment.

The driver of the bus escaped from the scene leaving the bus.

Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver and impounded the bus.

DEMONSTRATION: A large number of writers staged a demonstration under the aegis of the Sindh Adabi Sangat, Dadu, in front of the press club here on Sunday to protest against the kidnapping of the joint secretary, Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Manthar Solangi.

The demonstrators were carrying placards and banners and were raising slogans against the Larkana administration.

They were led by the secretary, Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Ali Muhammad Solangi, Rajab Azad and Allah Rakhio Gorar.

Speaking to the demonstrators Ali Muhammad Solangi said that the central joint secretary of the Sindh Adabi Sangat Manthar Solangi and Hussain Bux Narejo were kidnapped, when they were going to their native town Naudero some 16 days back.

He said that the district administration Larkana had failed to recover them from the captivity of the dacoits. He threatened to launch a series of protests if district administration Larkana did not recover them.

Later, they observed a token hunger strike outside the press club.
