Follower Deprives ‘pir’ of Rs3.8m

By Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR, Feb 10: A follower on Sunday allegedly deprived his so-called ‘pir’ of Rs3.8 million at Bindra Basti.

It is learnt that Hassan Shah had given the amount to Salman for the property business.

In another incident, a pupil allegedly relieved his teacher of Rs300,000 which he had invested with his student in a joint business.

Police have registered separate cases.

CASE REGISTERED: Baghdadul Jadid police on Sunday registered a case against 65 persons for allegedly taking illegal possession of land.

According to police, Abdul Majeed had lodged a complaint that his rivals were not allowing him to develop a housing scheme on his own land. Police summoned the alleged accused for negotiations at the police station, but they resorted to violence and tried to take law in their own hands.

Police arrested 35 persons while the rest of them managed to flee.

Knowledgeable circles however condemned the action, saying the alleged accused were summoned for the reconciliation.
