HYDERABAD, Feb 10: The activists of the Sindh Hari Committee staged a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Sunday to protest against the excesses of Punjab and the non-recruitment of local people in multinational companies.
Talking to newsmen, Zamir Lashari, Ismail Jatoi and other peasant leaders said that the natural resources of Sindh had been taken over by Punjab and the multinational companies like Lasmo of Dadu district and the two pharmaceutical companies of Jamshoro were not employing the local youth.
They said that small growers of the province were being looted by the Revenue officials in the name of different taxes.
They deplored that due to the acute shortage of water, fertile lands of Sindh were turning into a desert.
They demanded that excesses against Sindh should be stopped.—Bureau
