By Latafat Ali Siddiqui

TORONTO, Feb 3: A 14-member Canadian trade delegation will visit Pakistan this month to explore avenues for boosting Islamabad’s exports to Ottawa.

The delegation comprising government officials, prominent industrialists, traders and bankers is scheduled to leave Toronto for Karachi on Feb 15, according to Anwar Merchant, President of Canada-Pakistan Business Council (CPBC).

Merchant, whose organization played a key role in arranging the tour told Dawn on Sunday that members of the delegation are interested mainly in the field of IT, telecommunication, health care equipment, auto parts, agro-food products, finance and investments.

Some of the Canadian businessmen accompanying the delegation are interested in buying high-quality Pakistani rice.

The theme of the two-day conference is: “An emerging crossroad for trade and investment”.
