15 die in Kashmir


SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Thirteen Kashmiris and two Indian soldiers were killed in gunbattles in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Sunday.

Indian troops shot dead three unidentified men in a gunbattle near Tral area, police claimed.

In Kokernag an Indian soldier and two freedom fighters were killed in an enounter. Two fighters belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen were killed near village Chakras. A soldier and six armed men have been killed in separate gunbattles since Saturday evening.—Reuters
