THATTA, Feb 3: Six bandits reportedly led by notorious outlaw Ali Khoso kidnapped a fruit farm owner Ghulam Qadir from his farm near Jherruck on Saturday.
Witnesses said that the armed dacoits on confirmation of the presence of Ghulam Qadir, stormed the farm adjacent to right bank of River Indus River and escorted him on gunpoint into nearby Viran forest.
The kidnappers left a message for police that if they dared to follow them, they should bid farewell to their families for ever.
Police sources said that Ali Khoso and his accomplices were operating in Viran and Khadi forests for the last couple of years.
Last year the gang shot dead a forest gardener and a woman beside extorting ransom from a number of kidnap victims they made hostages in thick woods.
The district police officer, Thatta, was not available to comment.
The kidnapped farm owner is a resident of a village in the outskirts of Karachi.
TEACHERS: The government school teachers staged a rally here on Saturday to protest against bribe taking at the district treasury office for their routine payments.
Chanting slogans against the department officials, they marched on main thoroughfares of the city and staged a sit in front of Thatta press club on the National Highway resulting in suspension of vehicular traffic for half an hour.
Speaking on this occasion the district president, Government School Teachers Association, Syed Abdullah Shah, and others, vowed to continue their protest till the action against the treasury office officials.
