GUJRAT, Feb 3: Five people were gunned down on Sunday by their three rivals over a dispute of adda possession in Kotla Arab Ali Khan, some 25 kilometres from here.

The victims were present at a public call office near Langrial Chowk when armed assailants came there and sprayed a volley of bullets on them. Sheraz Ahmad, Ashraf and Altaf Hussain died instantly while Ali Raza and Aslam, who sustained serious injuries, also expired at the local DHQ Hospital. The bodies were sent to mortuary for autopsy.

A spokesman of the district police told Dawn by phone that police had arrested two suspects Jamil and Sughran Bibi.

Further investigation is under way.
