KARACHI, Feb 1: The Nazim Karachi, Naimatullah Khan, has imposed Section 144 CrPC in Karachi, banning the entry of sacrificial animals and their trading in the city limits on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

The City Police Chief has been directed to arrest those involved in trading of animals within the city limits and impound the animals.

Meanwhile, the city government has directed the police to maintain a strict vigil on city’s all entry points so that animals are not allowed to enter.

In this regard, a monitoring system, comprising the elected representatives and officers of the city government, has been set up.

Action will be taken against concerned police station in charge if violations continue.

However, animal mandis have been established along Super, National and RCD highways from where people could buy sacrificial animals.—APP
