Adil Mufti quits General Tyres

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 1: Dr Adil Mufti, a senior corporate leader has relinquished his charge as the Chief Executive of the General Tyres on Friday and has joined Dun and Bradstreet in Pakistan.

A USA based 157 years old company, Dun and Bradstreet boasts of having four American presidents as its employees including Abraham Lincoln. Known in the corporate world as D and B, it owns Moody’s, a company that undertakes country and bank ratings.

In Pakistan D and B offers a variety of financial services to banks. It has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Export Promotion Bureau.

Regarded as the country’s most experienced professional manager, Dr Mufti’s exit from General Tyres has come as a shock to the corporate world in Pakistan. He had resigned about six months ago. Haroon Zuberi has taken over the charge from Dr Mufti in the General Tyres.

General Tyres, a leading multinational in tyre manufacture has become a battle ground of the local and foreign shareholders for almost a year with no apparent end in the sight as yet.
