MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 30: The federal education ministry will set up an English language laboratory in the AJK Univer sity at a cost of one million rupees, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan told a delegation of students here on Wednesday.

The students of the English Department called on the president at the Aiwan-i-Sadr and requested him to help establish an English language laboratory in the university.

English Society President Naveed Arif led the delegation while Abdur Rehman, Zohra Hayat, Asia Siddique and Saeeda Parveen were among its members.

An official handout stated that the president had contacted Federal Education Minister Zobaida Jalal in the presence of the students, asking her to assist the university in developing the lab.

The minister consented and said the education ministry would establish the lab within two months. The team thanked the president and minister, and hoped that the lab would go a long way in improving the language skills of the students.
