GUJRANWALA, Jan 27: Arrangements are being made to celebrate Basant Mela in a befitting manner in Gujranwala on March 1.

A survey conducted by Dawn on Sunday revealed that kite and string makers were working overtime to meet the demand of different varieties of kites and chemical coated strings.

Meanwhile, a large number of citizens have urged the authorities concerned to ensure ban on the use of metal and chemical coated strings for kite flying.

They said that the use of metal and chemical strings was causing fatal incidents besides interrupting electricity supply.

KILLS HUSBAND: A woman who killed her husband with the help of her lover three months ago was arrested on Sunday.
