Indian plane violates airspace

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 24: An Indian spy plane violated the Pakistan airspace in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night but escaped from being hit by the anti-aircraft guns, official sources said.

The enemy plane intruded into the Pakistan airspace in Chirikot sector in the southern Bagh district of Azad Kashmir at about 11:30pm on Wednesday, an official told Dawn on Thursday.

“Our troops hit the plane with anti-aircraft guns, causing some damage to its tail but it finally escaped,” said the official, who requested anonymity. The official did not know how much time the Indian plane remained in the Pakistan airspace.
