QUETTA, Jan 24: Nawab Mohammed Aslam Raisani, chief of Sarawan tribes, has sought protection of life, honour and property of all by the government, or, they should be allowed to take measures to defend themselves.
Speaking at a press conference at Raisani House here on Thursday, he said Kot Raisani, Mithri, Mehar Garh and some other areas were without electricity, and power supply had been snapped by their adversaries.
“We are not getting relief from the government or the local administration for the last 23 years, Nawab Raisani said adding that the situation did take a turn in 1977 but our people have not benefited from it.”
He accused the officials of backing his adversaries in the tribal conflict.
Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, a former provincial minister, who was also present on the occasion, said that District Nazim was also helpless in the matter as officials were being posted without his knowledge.
He said that he had also written to the chief justice of Balochistan High Court asking him to intervene in the matter.
Earlier, governor and the corps commander too were briefed about the situation.
He said platoons of armed men were deployed in the area who were later deployed at Kattan and Nari to protect the DCO and other officials.
