RAWALPINDI, Jan 23: Islamabad crashed to a 169-run defeat against Lahore Blues on the last day of their Quaid Trophy Grade-I game at KRL Stadium Wednesday.

Lahore set a target of 322 for Islamabad to achieve victory but dismal batting by the home batsmen saw the entire side being dismissed for 152.

Earlier in the morning the visiting team had declared their second innings at 385 for eight after facing just five deliveries adding three more runs to their overnight score.

Islamabad’s chase quickly went off track and they were a 25 for four at one stage. Four of the batsmen went for nought with only Iftikhar Hussain sticking on to the crease in scoring 44.

The wickets went to paceman Irfan Fazil, who took 3-22 and slow left-armer Mohammad Hussain also picking up three.
