SIALKOT, Jan 23: Two bodies were burnt on Wednesday by some unknown persons to conceal their offence in Tharo Mandi village, Pasrur tehsil.

Some villagers spotted two completely charred and unidentified bodies in nearby fields.

Police claimed that bodies had been set ablaze by outlaws to conceal their crime after being shot them dead. Bodies were in too bad condition to know about their sex.

Phalora police after taking the bodies into custody have started investigation on different angles.

PPP CONVENTION: Arrangements have been finalised for holding the PPP’s district convention in the city on Jan 27.

Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, PPP district president Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas said that Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia would be the chief guest.

He would be brought to the city in a big rally after receiving him warmly at the Daska canal bridge, he added.

FACTORY LOOTED: Three unidentified dacoits on Tuesday evening looted Rs150,000 in cash from a factory at Chowk Civil Hospital, Daska.

Armed dacoits barged into Muhammad Iqbal’s factory, held him and his employees hostage, scooped cash and escaped with the booty.

Daska City police are investigating into the matter.

REJECTED: The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has rejected the abolition of additional qualification, selection grade, promotion and move over rights of teachers by the provincial Education department.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the PTU at a meeting chaired by central president Raja Zafeer Ahmad and teachers’ representatives termed the decision unjust and against the interest of teachers.
