Labourer axed to death over petty issue

OKARA, Jan 23: A labourer was axed to death over a petty issue in Chak 36/AGD on Wednesday.

Zawar Husain was passing through a village street on his donkey cart loaded with fodder. One Muhammad Ali alias Mamman, abused him on passing through the street. They exchanged hot words. Later, Muhammad Ali, along with his accomplices Sadiq, Gama alias Gamun and an unidentified man, armed with axes, entered Zawar’s house. They attacked Zawar and inflicted serious injuries on him.

Zawar was referred to a Lahore hospital where he died.

PPP CONVENTION: A PPP workers convention will be held here on Jan 25. Punjab president Qasim Zia will be the chief guest on the occasion. Raza Rabbani, Khalid Kharal and Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan will also attend the convention.

The convention is being arranged by former federal minister and Punjab president Rao Sikandar Iqbal.
