MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 19: AJK Public Works Department has earmarked Rs28.166 million for the construction of the building of Kashmir Centre in Lahore under the special directives of Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, it was announced here on Saturday.

An official handout said the Prime Minister had directed the PWD to prepare design for the KC building in November last year when he inspected the site for the centre during his visit to the provincial metropolis.

A plot for the Kashmir Centre, the handout added, had been obtained from the Punjab government during the previous stint of premier Sikandar.

COMMITTEE: Meanwhile, the AJK Prime Minister on Saturday approved the constitution of a high-powered committee for evaluation of the work done on the ground under different sections of the foreign-aided Neelum and Jhelum Valleys Community Development Project (NJVCDP).

The NJVCDP is being jointly funded by the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
