ISLAMABAD, Jan 17: The arrangements to observe kasmir Solidarity Day on February 5 has been finalized and “Kashmir — Justice Without Discrimination” has been approved as the theme for this year.

The decision was taken at the coordination committee meeting, which was presided over by the federal minister for Kashmir and Northern Areas, Abbas Sarfaraz Khan, here on Thursday.

President Gen Pervez Musharraf will preside over “Kashmir Convention”, in Islamabad, arranged by the newly-formed National Kashmir Committee (NKC).

The minister said, the day would be observed in a befitting manner to display Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

The meeting was told that this time the day would be observed with an objective to peacefully resolve this longstanding issue and to send a message to the international community through foreign media.

February 5 will be a closed holiday and special prayers will be offered after morning prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, success of freedom struggle and solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will organize a Kashmir solidarity walk at Jinnah avenue.
