BUNER, Jan 17: The newly-elected six-member cabinet of the Buner Bar Association for they year 2002 took the oath of their respective offices here at the bar room, Daggar, on Thursday.
District and session judge Riaz Khan Khattak administered the oath. The working judges, SSP, DRO, journalists, and lawyers attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion Shamsur Rehman (advocate) said that a consensus cabinet was formed in the interest of the bar. And thus the cabinet under the presidentship of Rafiqullah Khan (advocate) would have to work for a one- year term.
The outgoing president Obaidur Rehman (advocate) prayed for the success of the new cabinet.
The newly-elected president Rafiqullah Khan (advocate) thanked the members for their votes and promised to work earnestly for their cause.
He appealed to the members to point out anything they felt was not in the interest of the bar.
He said in the past relations between the bench and the bar had always been cordial and cooperative, and assured the members that it would continue to be so.
But, he was critical of the inflated electricity bills being received by the bar when the revenue staff occupied the entire building.
He asked the DRO present at the ceremony to clear all bills in order to avoid any conflict between the two institutions.
