KARACHI, Jan 17: Six ships carrying general cargo, containers and high speed diesel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships were berthed. They are: Leixoes, to unload and load containers, Kaghan and Leyi to unload and load general cargo, Jovanna to offload fertilizer, Golden Gate, Pinta and Battery Park to unload chemicals and crude oil.

Six ships, Lanka Mahapola, Wan Hai-231, Sibi, Matumabba, Warbah, Battery Park and Taipan sailed out, while Pinta, Leixose, Golden Gate, Dubai and Safe Marine Wami will depart on Friday.

The berth occupancy was maintained at 56 and 67 per cent both at the dry cargo berths and oil piers respectively.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side totalling 83,480 tons comprising 19,267 tons of export cargo and 64,213 tons of import tonnage including 48,187 tons of liquid cargo.

The following ships are due on Friday Al-Maqwa, with high speed diesel, Kota Bakti, Sinail Medan, MSC Morinana and Jamila, with containers and Islamabad, with general cargo.

KARACHI, Jan 17: Two ships scheduled to offload general cargo and edible oil were accommodated berths at Multi-Purpose Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile three ships, Arrow with furnace oil, Frejascandic carrying edible oil, and Francisca Schulte with containers also arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Six ships, Global-1, Titanas, Liberty Sea, Contship Champion, Min Noble and Mint Prosperity were engaged in discharging edible oil, coal, general cargo, containers, iron ore and furnace oil respectively.

Altis-P, Contship Champion and Mint Prosperity were sailed.
