RAWALPINDI, Jan 16: The additional sessions judge, Rawalpindi, Shahzad Pervez Abbasi, on Wednesday issued show-cause notice against the Sadiqabad police station SHO on the charges of not presenting challan in the court in a Hadood case.

The SHO did not appear before the court in person and also did not present the challan of the case. The court directed the Rawalpindi SSP to ensure the SHO’s presence in the court.

The civil judge, Daud Sahi, issued show-cause notice against Civil Lines police station SHO on the charges of not presenting challan in a quarrel case against an accused. Mazhar was arrested by Civil Lines police two months ago.

The civil judge, Hidyatullah Shah, sent 18 gamblers, including a labour councillor, Tariq Awan, to 14-day judicial remand. They were arrested by Waris Khan police in Chaman Zar Colony and seized Rs30,000 and a television.

Those who were sent to judicial remand include Tahir Riaz Kiani, Mohammad Akhtar Awan, Sagheer Ahmed Sheikh, Sheikh Salauddin, Azhar Masood, Arshad Sheikh, Sami, Mohammad Arshad, Khurram Shahzad, Imran Saleem, Sabir Pathan, Fiaz Malik, Mohammad Shabbir, Imran Rasheed, Bashirul Haq, Malik Naseer Ahmed, Asif Ali.
