Hunger strike

Published January 17, 2002

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 16: At least fifty successful candidates for teachers’ posts observed token hunger strike at the Post Office Chowk on Wednesday.

They said that they had cleared the interview and test for the posts of teachers but they had not been issued appointment letters as yet.

They raised slogans against the EDO (education) and accused him of appointing his favourites.

They claimed 434 successful candidates were deprived of their rights due to the non-issuance of appointment letters, and added that 212 teachers’ posts were lying vacant.
