RAWALPINDI, Jan 15: Improper covers at the Rawalpindi Stadium, one of Pakistan’s major Test centres has led to water seeping through greatly reducing chances of play starting in the Quaid Trophy match.
For the second day running, there was no play in the Grade-I tie between Rawalpindi and Peshawar as rains that lashed the city for the past two days left the pitch and square unplayable.
The covers at the Rawalpindi Stadium are said to be not enough to envelope the entire square which means that any hopes of the match starting even Wednesday appear remote.
There was also no play in the match between Islamabad and Rest of NWFP at the KRL Stadium.
