Shell wins HSD import tender

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 15: Shell International Trading won a tender for the import of high-speed diesel (HSD), claiming that supplies will be 30 per cent cheaper for Pakistan.

Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) on January 15 had invited a tender for the import of HSD. Bids were called for a firm cargo of 60,000 tons for February and an optional cargo of 60,000 tons for February and March.

Seven bidders offered their premiums, but Shell’s offer of $1.27 was 30 per cent cheaper than the offers made by other six bidders, says a press release.

Currently, 75 per cent supplies (brought in by the Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) and handled by the PSO) are at a premium of $1.65/bbl.
