Robbers strike six times

FAISALABAD, Jan 14: Robbers during the last 24 hours injured a watchman and took away cash, gold ornaments and three motorbikes in six strikes.

A gang injured watchman Muhammad Ayub when he put up resistance during looting bid in a market in Chak 117, Nishatabad police station.

In another incident, bandits deprived Mahmood Khan, a cashier in a multi-national company, of Rs1 million when he was making for office after encashing the cheque in Madina Town.

Three robbers barged into Liaquat Ali’s house in Awami Colony and took away cash and jewellery worth Rs50,000.

Highwaymen drove away with two-wheelers of Ali Ahmad, Green Market Tandlianwala commission agent Shabbir and salesman Abdul Rasheed.

BOOKED: The local Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Monday claimed to have booked two policemen on the charge of receiving illegal gratification from a woman.

Moondan bibi of Chak 215-RB lodged a complaint before ACE additional director against ASI Muhammad Ali and constable Mehar Ali for receiving Rs9,000 from her for an illegal favour.

The court booked the officials and is investigating.

SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide over financial restraints in Tandlianwala on Monday.

Struggling to meet his family’s expenses, Akbar dived in front of a train. He died instantly.
