President’s envoys meet King Fahd

ISLAMABAD, Jan 13: As special envoys of President Pervez Musharraf, federal minister for communications & railways Lt-Gen (retd) Javed Ashraf accompanied by former federal minister Mohammad Ejazul Haq called on King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and the foreign minister Prince Saud Al Faisal bin Abdul Aziz on Sunday.

During their meeting with King Fahad, the envoys handed over a letter from Gen Musharraf and communicated Pakistan’s concern about the massing of Indian troops on the border.

King Fahd bin Qbdul Aziz appreciated Pakistan’s policies and efforts for the de-escalation of tension in the region. The two sides also reiterated their close brotherly relations.

During discussions with the foreign minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, besides the situation on the Pakistan-India borders, views were exchanged on Pakistan’s decision to join the US-led coalition against terrorism.—APP
