Three held, hashish seized

D. I. KHAN, Jan 13: The Customs staff recovered huge quantity of hashish from a truck at Ramak check post and held three persons on Saturday.

Officials claimed that the contraband was being smuggled to some foreign country from Peshawar.

A raiding party, on a tip-off, was constituted and deputed at Ramak check post. During search of a Hino truck loaded with marble slabs, 2,870 kilograms of Hashish worth approximately Rs15 million was recovered.

Truck driver Mian Gul Bacha of Saidu Sharif Swat, his son Muhammad Parvez and helper Bukht Zamin of Saidu Sharif were arrested.  

A case has been registered under sections 6,7,8 and 9 of Control of Narcotics Substance Act, and section 16, 156(1)(8)(89), 157, 178 and 2(s) of Customs Act 1969 read with section 3(1) of Import/Export Control Act 1950.
