Historians debate over Quaid’s birthplace

THATTA, Jan 13: Intellectuals, academicians, historians, writers, and the representatives of Thatta District debated over the controversial issue of the birthplace of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah at a seminar on “Jinnah and Jherruck” at Jherruck town on Sunday.

The seminar was organized by the Quaid-i-Azam Yadgaar Committee and presided over by Prof Ghulam Ali Allana, member, Quaid-i-Azam Academy.

The committee resolved to refer the issue to the Quaid-i-Azam Academy through the vice chancellor, Sindh University Jamshoro, in the light of its findings.

Chief of the Awami Tehrik, Rasool Bux Palijo said that scores of documentary evidences and academic records were being compiled by the Quaid-i-Azam Yadgaar the committee for years to prove that Quaid-e-Azam was born in Jherruck and not in Karachi.

A committee comprising with Dr. Ghulam Ali Allana as its chairman was constituted to compile the facts and prove that the Quaid-i-Azam was born in Jherruck.
