Unknown Hasan upsets Murtuza

KARACHI, Jan 11: Hasan Rasheed produced a major surprise in Sindh Cup snooker championship qualifying rounds when he defeated Murtuza Rajab Ali 3-2 to sail into the third round at Indus Club Bahadurabad Friday.

Unknown Hasan staged a fine rally from 0-2 to defeat former national cueist Murtuza 3-2 by winning next three frames.

Muzamil Dad also showed fighting qualities when he came from 0-2 to overcome Ahmed Ansari 3-2 after a tense tussle.

The third round matches will start Saturday.

Sixteen players from Sindh Cup qualifiers will move to join the other 16 directly placed in the main draw for the title.

Later top 16 in main Sindh Cup will advance to play in the qualify rounds of the National Snooker Championship.
