OKARA, Jan 10: The desiltation campaign initiated by the district government is in full swing in the Okara district.

This was stated by district Nazim Syed Sajjad Haider while inaugurating the desiltation drive at 1/L minor near Renala Khurd.

He said the district government had made some practical steps to check the canal water theft.

He said action against officials of the Irrigation department would be taken if farmers at the minor’s tail-end could not get the water.

Canal SE Irshad Ali, Deepalpur Canals SE Chaudhry Bashir and Canal XEN Syed Naveed Ali told the district Nazim that the department was providing diesel for tractors and bulldozers besides expenditures of food to farmers.
